History
In November 1961, God called Curtis O. Lehman to establish Lincoln Berean Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. He faithfully served as Senior Pastor until his retirement in 1994. Pastor Lehman was a visionary, always seeking the next step of faith to which God was calling the church to accomplish its mission. His heart for people, passion for God's Word and zeal for reaching people through church-planting continue to define Lincoln Berean Church today. Pastor Lehman went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2003.
In his final years, Pastor Lehman had a burden to see the local church become a training ground to prepare people for vocational Christian service. He often spoke of the potential for Lincoln Berean becoming such a place. His vision planted the seeds that have grown into the Christian Leadership College. In honor of Pastor Lehman, a scholarship is available to full-time and part-time students who qualify.
The Christian Leadership College opened its doors in January 2006 to teach, train and mentor those called to Christian leadership. The first classes were held in August 2006. In May 2007, the first graduates were awarded the Certificate of Christian Leadership.
